Lawsuits Against Bayer Continue to Mount
More than 1700 lawsuits have been filed against Bayer and related entities on behalf of women seriously injured after taking the birth control pills Yasmin and Yaz. Since last year women have been filing suits seeking damages for injuries such as stroke, pulmonary embolism, DVT and gallabladder removal after using Yasmin and Yaz. Due to the large volume of cases, the lawsuits have been consolidated in four courts across the country. Cases filed in federal court have been consolidated into an MDL in Southern Illinois and there are state court consolidations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California.
